Problem:The education system of the USA does little to prepare students for problems and subjects that they have not yet been exposed to through the public school system.
The fast paced nature of the modern economy involves rapidly changing skill sets, as employees change employers relatively frequently.
Solution: Every semester, students will use independent research utilizing any and all available resources to teach themselves a marketable skill, and will showcase their new abilities at the end of each semester. In addition: they will be expected to gain and demonstrate proficiency with software applications actively being utilized in the local economy, one new application per school year.
An information packet detailing example "scripts" of acceptable business communication to use on the telephone/email/mail/in person, listing the resources of their local community colleges and universities, and outlining effective search engine strategy as might be used by a "private investigator."
